What a predicament!!! O.K. if you know me, you may know that this is NOT my thing! However, I find myself considering getting this adorable little puppy, which would be an indoor dog, for the kids. They are BEGGING me!! I know that I ultimately have to decide whether or not I am willing to take this on as I am sure I will be the one to take care of him. Now, growing up for me I had the opportunity to have many different animals as pets. We always lived on mini farms and even though I was supposed to be the one responsible for taking care of the animal, my dad ultimately was the one that kept them alive! So I know how this works....even though I tell the kids they have to take care of the puppy I know I will be the one. I really want the kids to have the same memories of childhood pets that I had(maybe not to the same degree)and so far they have none and I really think this is a great age to have a pet and learn a little responsibility with it. Brian and I seem to collectively be allergic to most animals except dogs. This little guy comes from my babysitters new dog and we have been told we have first dibs on him. I know my family in Tennessee are shocked right now that I am even considering this...am I right?!! Anyways here's pictures of the cute munchkin who is only 2 weeks old.....we wouldn't get him for 6 weeks so I do have some time to mull this over....any advice??! Oh yeah,he is a yorkie mix, I believe...his mom is only 23 lbs.
This is mama and baby...

I can so hear you there! There are many days and incidences that I wonder why we ever get a dog...and then he curls his big old butt on my lap (all 60 lbs) and I forget all about it.
Go for it!!
Oh my...way to cute!! I'm not sure I'm there with you yet...but I did concede that when J & T graduate kali could get a pet...that's so I don't have to have another baby!! LOL!!
Wow, you are so right... I am in shock!!!!!! What an adorable puppy, but then I think all puppies are adorable. I think it is awonderful idea.... Papa will be there next week and he can give you lots of info on how to train him... he is really good at it. EVERY child needs a puppy to love...you go girl. Wish i was coming too. Hugs to all, Grannie
UM...get him! But if you do, I might dognap him so keep a close a eye on the little guy. I love him! And if you get him, you should name him Gordon, Gordy for short:) Love you! Trina
we have just been through this same dilema...we decided to go for it! Best of luck with the little guy! Our families could be getting their first pets at just about the same time! Small world!
we're jealous! we've been looking for a nice dog as well. i say, 'go for it!' and does he have any brothers or sisters that need a good home? :)
So cute! I have to say I told my kids NO DOGS!!! But when we were around some puppies this summer I was so close to caving....Good luck with your decision. :)
WOW! have you ever got the comments on this one! He is adorable, and they are a lot of work but remember all the memories we have of muffy. I still consider getting a dog cuz I am by myself so much, but the training thing stops me. The kids would go crazy to have a little dog and it will bring them memories. This is a tough one. love, Mom
